Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, store, share, and protect information when you use NerdBeing.

Last updated: 29 October 2026

This Privacy Policy describes our policies and procedures regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of your information when you use the NerdBeing website and the NerdBeing mobile application (together, the “Service”). It also explains your privacy rights and how the law protects you.

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. Our Terms also apply.

Who we are

The Company (referred to as “the Company”, “We”, “Us”, or “Our”) is NerdBeing. Country refers to India. NerdBeing is the website and the interview practice app on iOS and Android.

“You” means the individual accessing or using the Service, or the organization on whose behalf that individual is using the Service.

“Personal Data” means any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual. “Usage Data” is data collected automatically, either generated by use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself.

Who this policy applies to

This Privacy Policy applies to personal information we collect from or about:

  • People who visit the NerdBeing website
  • People who create or use a NerdBeing account in the iOS or Android app
  • People who purchase a paid plan through the App Store or Google Play
  • People who write to us for support, feedback, or partnership
  • People who leave an email on the website for practice updates

Information we collect

This website

The NerdBeing website does not ask you to create an account. Shortly after the site loads, we ask for your email so we can send practice and product updates. You need to leave a real email to continue browsing.

If you submit an email, we store it with the time you joined and a technical identifier such as your IP address, so we can stop spam and honour unsubscribe requests. Disposable and invalid addresses are rejected.

If you switch between light and dark, that choice is saved in your browser’s local storage under the key nb-theme. After you join the email list, we remember that under nb-waitlist so we do not ask again. Both stay on your device. Clearing site data removes them. We do not use advertising cookies on this website.

Account information

When you create or manage a NerdBeing account, we may collect:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Password or authentication details, including one-time codes sent to your email
  • Date of birth, if you choose to provide it
  • Account settings and learning preferences

Practice data

Practice answers and progress belong to the account that created them. We may store questions you attempt, answers you submit, hints you use, explanations you review, subject and topic progress, and weak areas so we can show you what you know and what to revisit.

Usage Data

Usage Data is collected automatically when using the Service. This may include your device’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, app version, diagnostic data, and similar technical information needed to operate and improve the Service.

Payments

If you purchase a paid plan, billing is handled by Apple In-App Purchases or Google Play Billing. We do not store or collect your payment card details. That information is provided directly to the store. Their use of your personal information is governed by their own privacy policies.

We may receive limited billing metadata from those stores, such as subscription status, product identifier, and transaction identifiers needed to unlock paid features.

Communications with us

When you email us, we may collect your name, email address, message content, and any screenshots or files you choose to send, so we can respond.

How we use your information

  • To create and manage your account and authentication

We do not sell your personal information.

Legal bases for processing

Where laws such as the GDPR or UK GDPR apply, we rely on one or more of the following:

  • Performance of a contract: to provide the Service you requested and manage your account
  • Legitimate interests: to improve, secure, and operate the Service, provided your rights do not override those interests
  • Consent: where we ask for your permission, such as optional profile details
  • Legal obligations: where processing is required to comply with applicable law, including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023

Retention

The Company will retain your Personal Data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Service, maintain your account, comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent fraud or abuse. When information is no longer needed, we may delete, anonymize, or aggregate it. Some information may remain in backups or logs for a limited period.

Transfer of your Personal Data

Your information, including Personal Data, is processed at the Company’s operating offices and on servers used to run the Service, including servers located in India. Your agreement to this Privacy Policy represents your agreement to that transfer. We use commercially reasonable safeguards when information is stored or processed outside your country of residence.

How we share information

We may share information:

  • With service providers who help us operate the Service, such as hosting, email delivery, error tracking, and infrastructure
  • With Apple or Google to process purchases and restore subscriptions
  • When required to comply with a legal obligation, court order, or lawful request

These providers are authorized to use information only as needed to provide services to us, unless otherwise permitted by law.

Security

We use commercially reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational safeguards to protect your Personal Data. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials safe and notifying us if you believe your account has been compromised.

Children’s privacy

NerdBeing is not intended for children under the age of 18. If you are under 18, please do not use the Service or provide Personal Data to us. Account deletion

You may request deletion of your NerdBeing account at any time by contacting us at nerdbeing@twoindianmonk.com, or by using in-app account settings where available. Upon verification, we will delete or disable the account and associated practice data unless retention is required by law, for security, fraud prevention, billing, dispute resolution, or compliance.

Third-party stores and links

The iOS and Android apps are downloaded from the App Store and Google Play. Those stores handle the download and, where applicable, payment. Their terms and privacy policies apply to that part of the process. The Service may also contain links to other websites we do not operate. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content or practices of any third-party sites or services.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page and take effect upon publication. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top. If changes are significant, we may provide additional notice where required by law. You are advised to review this page periodically.
